About the artist:
Born in Vienna Austria in 1943, Leo Schimanszky developed his artistic foundation while travelling throughout Europe.
In 1966, Schimanszky migrated to Canada where he began his career as a sculptor in 1971. Over the last 45 years, he has based his art on nature. He explores various techniques and creates figurative and abstract forms while revealing the spiritual essence within the fluidity of his work.
While the subtle tranquil elements of the artist's sculptures are clearly evident, his paintings and works on paper display his daring exuberance. His bold colors and motifs emulate Schimanszky's own character.
Schimanszky's work can be found in public and private collections throughout the world.
